About this role

Our growing Private Business Tax & Advisory (Private Advisory) team is looking for a business services accountant to join our vibrant, friendly Brisbane office as an Associate / Senior Associate, Private Advisory – Partner Tax.

In this distinctive and challenging role, you will be part of a specialised team completing tax returns for Grant Thornton’s Partners and for investment entities, with a focus on tax compliance and tax planning.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the firm’s Partners in meeting their accounting and tax compliance requirements, including timely preparation of financial statements and income tax returns
  • Assist with accounting, tax advisory, and tax planning matters
  • Build strong relationships with Partners and other stakeholders whilst observing discretion and confidentiality
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation that may affect the firm’s Partners

Skills and experience

  • Qualification(s) and / or professional accreditation(s) in a relevant discipline such as Business / Commerce, Accounting or Finance, or other relevant professional or overseas qualification(s)
  • Have commenced (or planning to commence) a CA qualification
  • Significant professional experience in business and tax advisory within a chartered accounting setting
  • Interest in working with professionals and investment entities
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with a desire to go ‘above and beyond’ to delight your customers
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities within a deadline-driven environment
